PRP Skin Rejuvenation
PRP Skin Rejuvenation is a regenerative therapy using the liquid portion of one’s own blood to utilise growth factors and activate the body’s natural healing processes. It is clinically proven to stimulate new cell growth, boost collagen and elastin formation, and promote new blood vessel formation. Skin improvements can be seen from 2 weeks and continue to improve for up to 3 months. Prices start at $450 per treatment and best results are seen with a series of treatments.
What to expect?
- Downtime: no
- Pain: mild
- Treatment time: 45-60mins
Procedure
Our highly trained cosmetic practitioners begin the treatment by taking your blood and placing it in a centrifuge. This separates the skin rejuvenation plasma (which has the nutrient and regenerative properties) from the red blood cells. After applying an anaesthetic cream to the area, we then inject this back into the skin using our V2 Injector gun. The V2 Injector allows us to inject a precise volume in the depth of skin we want, causing minimal trauma to the outside layer of skin. The result is a more comfortable treatment with minimal downtime and better results. PRP Skin Rejuvenation can also be combined with skin needing, using our Dermapen-4 – a treatment popularly known as the “Vampire Facial”.
What parts of the body can PRP Skin Rejuvenation be used for?
PRP can be used on any part of the body. We commonly treat the face for its rejuvenating and anti-ageing properties, but it also works well for dark circles around the eyes, acne scarring, stretch marks on the breasts, stomach or thighs and hair loss in both men and women.
Benefits
PRP Skin Rejuvenation helps to:
- Improve the overall health, tone and elasticity of your skin
- Reduce shallow wrinkles and fine lines
- Reduce dark circles under your eyes
- Improve scarring, including acne scarring
- Minimise the visible signs of aged and sun-damaged skin
- Promote even skin tone and texture
- Accelerate hair regrowth in desired areas
Possible side effects
Some people may experience some minor swelling in the area of treatment, redness, heat or local irritation. Minor bruising can also occur and may take several days to disappear.
Aftercare
After your treatment you will need to avoid:
- Make-up for the remainder of the day
- Vigorous exercise or excessive sweating for 24 hours
- Direct sun exposure for 2 weeks
- Scrubs, exfoliants and ‘active’ skin care products (e.g. retinol) for 3-5 days
Because we are relying on your body’s healing processes, factors such as smoking and sun-exposure, which cause DNA-damage and can reduce wound-healing capabilities, can impact your results.
